We were so blessed to attend the NCFCA Speech Tournament on Saturday at University Baptist Church in San Antonio. NCFCA is a Christian speech and debate league which "challenges and equips ambassadors for Christ to communicate truth with integrity and grace." We had ten grandchildren participating, plus two toddlers and a baby in attendance, which is typical of homeschool events--the whoe family participates! (This picture shows only a few of those who were there from our family.)
It was an amazing day. The students strive so hard for excellence. If anyone thinks homeschooling is a lower quality of education, they should attend an event such as this. The speeches we heard were outstanding. We were so proud, not only of our amazing grandchilden but also of this huge group of dedicated homeschooling families who care enough to invest so much time and effort into their children's lives for the glory of the Lord.
Regardless of whether you homeschool your children or send them to a public or private school, involve yourself in their educational process by supporting them in their extra-curricular events, helping them with their homework, encourageing them when it seems overwhelming, and instilling your Christian values into their lives. Evening family reading time should be a part of this routine regardless of your choice of schooling for your child and regardless of the age of the child. Check out my website for some ideas on good books to read as a family in the evenings before bedtime to encourage your children in their walk with the Lord. I'd love to see your name on a review of one of my books on Amazon.

Grace and peace to you,
